Book Review: The Only Safe Place Left is the Dark by Warren Wagner

"The Only Safe Place Left is the Dark" by Warren Wagner is an undeniably brutal exploration of the depths of human endurance and survival.

Set against a backdrop of a nightmarish world overrun by zombies, this novel delves into the fierce determination of an HIV positive gay man as he seeks the medication that could very well mean the difference between life and death.

The setting and scenario alone are profoundly gripping, but it's Wagner's visceral portrayal of the protagonist's journey that truly captured my attention.

From start to finish, the raw and unnerving narrative kept me turning pages at an alarming rate. This isn't just a tale of zombies and post-apocalyptic chaos; it's a harrowing testament to the resilience of the human spirit.

Prepare to be unsettled, unnerved, and completely engrossed. Wagner has crafted a story that refuses to let you go, no matter how dark the path becomes.
